Walter's Profile

Walter is an independent creative advisor and entrepreneur. He shares his his insights and ideas on ‘creative information, inspiration and innovation’ with companies (new and existing) and organizations to create added value. Design thinking, brand building, future sketching are his working tools. He is the former chairman and chief creative officer of the FHV/BBDO Marketing Communication Group in Amsterdam and member of the BBDO European Board. He was also Chairman of the Dutch Art Directors Club and member of the Dutch EFFIE jury He now specializes in creativity and the creative industries as a whole and how this new and upcoming sector can contribute to social, cultural and economic growth Walter is also: Head of the Market Department of the Design Academy Eindhoven, chairman of the creative board of Creative Cities Amsterdam Area, chairman of Dutch Design in Development foundation, member of the advisory board of eu project Custom Fit and ambassador of the Dutch Design Awards

Vloeibare ontmoetingen op een zomeravond.

Gisteravond op stap geweest met collega ondernemer in honingraatkarton Jan Paul Reij. Eerst naar MonteVideo, instituut voor mediakunst, waar Daan Roosegaarde exposeerde op de tentoonstelling 'Five Days Off' waarin onder andere zijn sculptuur 'Vloeibaar 2.0' is te zien (op de foto achter JP met bril en ondergetekende met achterhoofd). 'Vloeibaar 2.0' is een interactief sculptuur dat fysiek reageert op menselijk geluid en beweging. De installaties is een onderdeel van Daan's onderzoek naar een architectuur die adaptief is met zijn gebruikers. En een onderdeel van de installatie is gemaakt van Beecore: een honingraatkarton structuur waar wij weer alles van af weten. Vandaar. De hitte op de bovenverdieping van Montevideo maakte ook de bezoekers enigzins vloeibaar. Vandaar dat het de rest van de avond goed toeven was op het zomeravondfeestje van designorganisatie BNO en designuitgeverij Bis op de pier achter het Centraal Station. Veel mensen gesproken over de stand van zaken rond de creatieve industrie in Amsterdam en daarbuiten. Teruglopend naar het CS leken de beide IJ-oevers zwanger te zijn van de komende economische en creatieve impulsen. En het was toch echt water wat ik gedronken had.
